ASSIST FM Scottish School Cook of the Year 2018

At the ASSIST FM Conference in August, Tracey Biggs from Galashiels Academy in Scottish Borders Council was crowned the Scottish School Cook of the Year 2018 Competition winner after serving up 2 innovative and healthy dishes of Courgette Falafels with Sweet Potato Wedges and Mint Dressing and Popcorn and Smoothie with a Natural Yogurt Berry Blast. Having entered the competition 3 times before, Tracey was absolutely delighted to have won the top prize.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Annette Burfoot of Highland Council took home second place after producing a menu of Scottish Baked Salmon with Tarragon served with Vegetable Cous Cous, Salad and Broccoli and Old-Fashioned Scottish Oatmeal Gingerbread, served with Vanilla Sauce and Fruit.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Third place went to Maria Millar of East Lothian Council who served up Chicken Cannelloni and Apple Caramel Cake to the judges.
